Finch Bay Eco Hotel named South America’s Leading Green Hotel by World Travel Awards04 Jul 2016, Posted by Galapagos Islands Blog in
It is with enormous pride that we share with you the wonderful news that the Finch Bay Eco Hotel has been recognized – for the 5th year in a row – as South America’s Leading Green Hotel at the World Travel Awards 2016. The Awards serve to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry, with votes compiled from the general public and travel professionals. This year’s ceremony took place in Lima, Peru on Friday 1st July.
The hotel’s privileged beachfront location on Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos brings with it enormous responsibility to care for this iconic destination and its people. To this end, we make every effort to use alternative energy, to monitor energy use, and of course, to reduce, reuse and recycle. And we ask our guests to help us, thereby increasing awareness of the fragility of this very special environment.
At the same time, we place a special emphasis on supporting our local community. We do our best to source our food locally and we hire our staff mainly from the islands. And it is precisely this staff that makes a visit to the Finch Bay Eco Hotel something special: our people share their sense of belonging and love for the hotel and the archipelago in a myriad of small details that create memorable experiences for our guests. We work as a team to make sure that everyone who visits us goes home remembering not just the quality, but also the warmth of our service.
In the name of management and our incredibly dedicated staff, we would like to thank all of you who took the time to vote and recognize our efforts to provide our partners and our guests with the opportunity to live the Galapagos your way at the Finch Bay Eco Hotel.
